Hi there, I’m Katie

I’m a therapist serving the Bay Area. In my practice, I specialize in trauma-informed therapy with a deeply relational approach. My goal is not to “fix“ you or your relationship, but rather to facilitate a journey of authentic discovery.

Let’s create a nurturing container for exploration, where you can express yourself fully and experience moments of profound insight, connection, and growth.

  • I am particularly passionate about working with individuals with complex trauma, those dealing with postpartum anxiety and/or depression, or general anxiety. Couples work is also an area I am very passionate about and well-suited to offer support in. I am not looking to fix you, but I will support you as you find your path to return to yourself.

  • Healing happens in relationships. My approach is holistic, client-centered, relationally-based, and trauma-informed. I focus on emotional attunement while using evidence-based modalities such as emotionally focused therapy, mindfulness, and internal family systems (parts work). As the client, you lead our sessions, and we only go as far as you would like. I know the power of somatic interventions, nervous system regulation, functional medicine, and other holistic modalities. I highly encourage and work with my clients to find a holistic approach in partnership with therapy.

  • I am warm, relationally-centered, and couples-focused. I believe in creating a safe and nurturing space for individuals and couples to authentically express and engage themselves in their own transformative journey.

  • At our core, we are beings of light. Whether complex trauma or the daily challenges of an often harsh world, life slowly dims our light. While your light may have dimmed, the truth is there is nothing wrong with you. But we all, at times, need help remembering this truth. This has been the process of healing for me—returning to that inner knowing. Struggling with anxiety and depression for much of my life set me on my healing path. My own nonlinear journey has included many modalities. I have found a holistic approach most helpful. In my work with clients, I recognize the importance of all aspects of our being: body, mind, soul, and spirit. From regulating our nervous system to forming new habits of thought to supporting our body’s nutritional needs, the healing journey is multifaceted, and I love supporting my clients’ explorations of it all.

As a mother of two children very close in age, I have experienced periods of postpartum anxiety as well. I have a deep understanding of birth trauma and the joys and challenges of motherhood. Married now for 17 years, I also have a deep well of experience in the pleasures and obstacles of partnership.

  • In my free time, I can be found with my kids and family, slowing down as much as possible, exploring the local beaches and tide pools, and eating oysters for dinner.
